Having a live sketch artist like Ruby at your wedding can truly enhance the atmosphere, allowing guests to interact and take home a memorable keepsake.
Family and friends come by Ruby's table as often as they'd like, watch her create drawings of the wedding guests right before their eyes, and pick up their own personal sketch before the end of the night!
Rather than having guests pose for their drawing, Ruby will take their picture, upon request, and draw from the photos in the order taken. She can create about 6-9 drawings per hour.
If you have other art ideas, Ruby is more than happy to customize the art experience to fit YOUR wedding needs!
Introducing
Ruby Underwood
Ruby has been creative since childhood. She has been drawing her entire life and learned to sew at age 12. After attending Stephens College for fashion design for a few years after high school, she switched to the Kansas City Art Institute where she studied numerous artistic mediums and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics in 2007.
Ruby's artistic ability has been prominent throughout her life. She has participated in many public art events in the Kansas City area over the years including Paint the Town, Chalk and Walk, First Friday in the crossroads, and more. One of her most consistent contributions to the art world has been through private artwork commissions.
While she thrives in many art practices including sculpture, drawing, and painting, one of her favorite and most striking avenues is lifelike portraiture. Ruby has an eye for proportions, light, and depth to truly capture an individual's personality through her drawings and paintings of people. With her new art venture creating LIVE art at weddings, she hopes to spread the joy of art while commemorating the love of the bride and groom at their wedding.
Live Art Booking options and prices:
Hourly rate $225 per hour, with a minimum of 4 hours
$200 non-refundable deposit required to secure your wedding date.
Balance is due 30 days before the wedding
